Frequently Asked Questions

Why is counseling beneficial?

Counseling provides the opportunity for you to process heavy emotions, trauma, and life events in a professional and confidential environment. Through counseling you can expect to gain deeper insight, enhanced ability to regulate your emotions, and nonjudgmental support. Many clients walk away from counseling with improved interpersonal relationships, confidence, and overall mood.

How long do sessions last?

Sessions are typically scheduled to last 50 minutes.  However, clients are welcome to request a longer session time if they wish to do so.

What is the first session like?

The first session is one of my favorites because it gives me a glimpse into what makes you, you!  You can expect me to ask questions about your background, your reason for seeking counseling services, and what you hope to gain through counseling. We will also discuss what frequency of sessions is most appropriate to meet your needs.
